Message from the Hon'ble Chief Minister regarding the Maternal and Child Health Program 'Matrujyoti' being implemented in Sundargarh (for approval)
"In Sundergarh district, the number of maternal deaths has dropped significantly as a result of the 'Matrujyoti' program," he said. "Through this program, all pregnant mothers in the district can be provided with 4 free ultrasound and ancillary testing services during pregnancy to save precious lives."
Mr. Naveen Patnaik
Hon'ble Chief Minister

Operational Framework and Roles & Responsibility of Key Stakeholders

All antenatal mothers are provided with health check-ups in 2800+ VHNDs & UHNDs observed in the district on Tuesdays and Fridays in which they are being provided routine check-ups, deworming tablets, calcium and iron supplements, etc. Only on 9th of every month (on PMSMA day only) the high-risk expectant mothers were being provided with a USG test. This operation framework shows the strategy of providing a minimum of 4 USG check-ups to all expectant mothers- to whom, at what place, by whom and when- for this activity. As VHNDs & UHNDs are the only points of contact with the service providers, eg. ANM, AWW & ASHA. Hence it is proposed that for effective management the group of antenatal mothers attending the VHNDs/UHNDs in a particular village within 12 weeks (1st ANC), 16-20 weeks (2nd ANC), 28-34 weeks (3rd ANC) and 36 weeks to delivery (4th ANC) are to be carried by ASHA & AWW as per the advice of the ANM to the designated tagged USG clinics
